Experience as a New Student

I look back and can still remember the first Martial Arts class I took. I walked Into a lobby and was kindly greeted by the receptionist. My father proceeded to tell her that he was wanting me to try out a class and It was our first time In a martial arts school. As he spoke to her I can remember the curiosity running through my mind and then looking out to the ongoing class and thinking can I do that? I then proceeded to my first class that same night, I was greeted by all of the Instructors and a few students.

Back then we didn't have a Intro class like we do now, we just did class with everyone else. What I am trying to get to is that being a new student can be tough at times, you are coming Into a new place and learning new things, meeting new people. This goes for new parents as well. I like to think that we are a small community at Icon, so If you ever see a new parent or student please do not hesitate to Introduce yourself and make them feel comfortable.Be sure to sign up for a Parents Night Out or two, as this is a way to make new friends and get to know your fellow students!
